ABOUT
Target Eagle is the first notable band I formed, 20 years old, in 1986. Finding the right members introduced me to my longtime friend Andy Sachs (bass). In the 80s instrumental shred albums where the thing, so ‚ why not do one myself ?‘ I thought. Produced by my mentor, Wolfgang Roch, I released a solo demo to international praise in 1987. On MC, of all things… After an exciting phase writing songs with PETER WINTER for a BMG/Ariola pitch I formed Changes in 1991 with Peter ‚Zegge‘ Zechiel (bass, vocals) and Georg Schanze (drums). Changes started as a progressive power trio but became more accessible adding singer Michael ‚Watz‘ Waidelich in 1992. The line-up was completed by Willy Schmitz (bass) and Torsten Daul (drums). 1995 I was invited by bass player Norbert Dreikluft to a session that led to the formation of Three Mile Smile . Together with Ebo Rock (voc, gt) and Andreas Engels (drums) we were offering more alternative oriented rock. 1997 the collaboration with Klaus Schmuck started, first in Jerry Can , later in the hard rocking Ocean Bed , releasing several CDs worldwide. In 2002 I also re-started my solo recordings. HIGH ROAD EASY was founded in 2008. I was finally able to join forces with power house singer Jan Knopf. ABOUT
TARGET EAGLE is the first notable band I formed with my mentor Wolfgang Roch, back in 1986. In the 80‘s instrumental shred albums where the thing, so ‚why not do one myself?‘, I thought. Produced by Wolfgang, it was the first SVEN HORLEMANN release to be published in 1987 to international praise. Singer P ETER WINTER had interest by BMG / Ariola, and I was recommended to join. We worked on songs, in the end Peter ended up doing a pro demo using PINK CREAM 69 as his studio band. 1991 I continued to study musicology, and free of commercial aspects, formed the progressive rock trio CHANGES with Zegge Zechiel and Georg Schanze. We had fun, played great gigs, but ultimately everyone moved on. End of 1992 CHANGES consisted of superb singer Michael Waidelich, Willy Schmitz on bass and Torsten Daul on drums. This incarnation of CHANGES further improved my songs, taking the progressive ideas and manage to fuse them to melodic rock songs the average listeners can enjoy, too. 1995 I was asked to join a new band, which became THREE MILE SMILE. Led by singer Ebo Rock we were offering more alternative oriented rock. 1997 the collaboration with KLAUS SCHMUCK started, first supporting him in JERRY CAN , later also forming the hard rocking OCEAN BED . 2002 I was more and more interested in recording, mixing and producing. Therefore it made sence to restart my solo recordings. 2008 I joined forces with power house singer JAN KNOPF forming HIGH ROAD EASY . As of today we released 4 full length records, our latest in 2020.

The 2nd album I teamed up with singer extraordinaire, Udo Maurer. I love is raspy voice that elevates 6 songs way beyond the original versions I had. It also features some of the best instrumental rock songs I‘ve ever written.
STANDING TALL (CD, 2013)
‚Standing Tall‘ is inspired by my work with vocalist Klaus Schmuck, with whom I collaborated several years. Some of the songs we wrote are dear to my heart and you can find re-arranged and re- recorded version on them with Klaus‘ original vocals. Add some new songs to that and voilá, a full album was ready.
HAPPY TURNS TO BLUE
(CD, 2016)
Featuring singer Udo Maurer for the first time this is a set of new songs written especially for this album. It gathers several guest musicians, most notably Magnus Brandell (drums), Lena Maurer (beautiful lead vocals on ‚I Can‘t See‘), Axel Gillhausen & Volker Schäfer (bass). A wonderful experience and an album I am very proud of.
IN.COM.PLETE (CD, 2010)
This album was done without the intention to release it. It was an experiment, fusing my classical influences with rock music. This album was just for me, not following any trend or seeking any audience. It was an adventure and one of my first proper productions. I like it.
